What is a Notice of Intention to Foreclose?

If a residential property is involved the NJ Fair Foreclosure Act requires that the lender send the homeowner a Notice of Intention to Foreclose (NOI)  before filing a foreclosure lawsuit. The required NOI must be sent at least 30 days and not more than 180 days before the lender can file a foreclosure complaint against you.
